Ylang Ylang is a large tree native to the countries of South East Asia. Its yellow flowers are strongly fragrant and essential oil made from them it is highly prized by aromatherapists.
Ylang-Ylang Essential Oil is thought to be a mental stimulant but, in contrast, also relaxes the mind and the body. Ylang Ylang oil is thought to help relieve stress, depression and anxiety and may even help lower high blood pressure.
The name Ylang Ylang means “flower of flowers” in Malay. It is traditionally used as an aphrodisiac and Ylang Ylang petals are often strewn across the marital bed of newly weds.
Caution: Do not take internally. Do not use it if pregnant, lactating or under a doctor’s care. Keep away from children and pets. High concentrations can cause headaches and nausea.
